Experience winter at its finest as family and friends discover
the adventure of dog sledding--glide through the wilderness
or along the shore of a local lake. We've partnered with several
area mushers in order to be able to create a combination of
sledding experiences that will meet everyone's outdoor adventure
expectations!

Adventure:
One of our most popular trips-- will be the highlight of
your stay in Ely this winter! Your excursion can be coordinated
to best fit your schedule with our 2, 4 and 8 hour ride opportunities.
A full day excursion includes a shore lunch. Your mushing adventure
includes an introduction to dog sledding. A typical outing places
two guests on each sled--one person rides while the other mushes.
Be sure to bring along a camera as there will be plenty of photo
opportunities. |

Dogs Sled Dog Trips:
Choose from an introductory Fun Ride, a one-hour Snowy Owl Run,
a morning or afternoon Backcountry Loop trip, a Day Trip, or
a one- or two-night Overnight Trek. Our trips are hands-on,
meaning you will learn how to harness and hook-up the dogs;
you may learn how to drive the team, riding on the runners;
or you may prefer to just sit back in a padded, enclosed sled,
and enjoy the breathtaking scenery while having the ride of
your life.

Lodge-Based
Rides on Bear Island Lake:
This mushing event is a wonderful way to introduce anyone
to dog sledding or simply experience what it feels like to be
part of a dog sled excursion. Each ride is approximately 15-20
minutes and guests will ride along the shores of Bear Island Lake.
Guests will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and
Bill Slaughter, your musher. Great photo opportunity for Mom and

Ice
Fishing and Mushing Adventure:
This full day winter excursion with Bill
Slaughter combines the best of two winter favorites: ice fishing
trip and mushing! Destinations include opportunities inside and
outside of the BWCAW--your Guide's favorite fishing holes! Your
excursion includes a hot shore lunch, fishing equipment, bait
and an experienced wilderness guide. A typical outing places two
guests on each sled--one person rides while the other mushes.
Your guide will meet you at the trail head.
